The good news for today is that the rain that has been making things feel very cold and miserable for the last few days finally stopped. Not only that, but the sun even tried to break through the clouds at one point. It was still a bit breezy, but not enough to deter some brave individuals from taking to the skies in a hot air balloon! It’s seen in the photo above gliding over the Waverley estate near Sheffield. If you look carefully you’ll see that it is actually a giant ladybird!
It’s been a bit of a damp start to the week, with rain for most of the day yesterday. Bad weather doesn’t stop the walks though and Rupert had his usual hour on the old railway track, splashing through the puddles and sniffing in the piles of fallen leaves.
It’s starting to feel very autumnal out there, which may account for a sudden increase in the number of requests we are getting for walks. If your dog needs walking or any other pet needs feeding etc while you are out, just give us a call on 07837 306824.
We don’t just do Dog walking. Sometimes we also do home visits to dogs and other pets whose owners are at work or on holiday etc. Here’s one Dog who enjoys home visits so much he jumps on my shoulder!
Summer seems to have returned this week. After a dull start on Monday the sun has been out for the last couple of days. Here’s Otis making the most of it while on his way back from the lake yesterday.
It’s shaping up to be another busy week for dog walking and it’s only Monday! Just one of the dogs I’ll be visiting is in the photo above.
If your dog needs a walk then give me a ring on 07837 306824 to check availability. The more advance notice you can give, the better chance I have of being able to fit you in.
It was another nice morning down at Vale fish pond yesterday. Lots of people were taking advantage of the good weather to get out and about on the old railway track, which now forms the Stockley Trail. It’s a great Dog walking location because it’s well away from any roads and once you’re on the old track, the surface is pretty good and not too muddy, even when it’s wet.
The seasons are definitely changing at the moment. Although there are still some nice sunny days, I’ve noticed the trees are starting to change colour. It’s good weather for dog walking though. Not too hot and not too cold either.
It was another nice sunny morning today, although it was a bit cold. Pippa still wanted her daily walk around Bolsover though, which included going through the grounds of Sherwood Lodge. The now empty Lodge is shown in the photo. Such a shame Bolsover District Council have allowed it to get into this state. It would make an excellent museum for the area and a much needed tourist attraction to complement the castle, which is a few minutes walk away.
It was a nice morning for a walk in the woods today. Rupert certainly seemed to appreciate it, shuffling through the leaves that are now starting to fall from the trees. Let’s hope the weather holds for the rest of the week.
After the high winds yesterday, I wasn’t too surprised to find quite a bit of tree damage this morning. I haven’t seen any trees actually fully down, but while I was out for an early morning walk with Pippa I did see some big branches that had been snapped off. Pippa had a sniff at them, then just walked on.
