Andy Walks is currently open for business, however we have imposed special restrictions for safety. Please read the following in full…
Here at Andy Walks we have been monitoring the coronavirus situation very closely. In the last few weeks the number of new infections has risen sharaply, culminating in todays daily total of new cases being in excess of 8,000! It has also been revealed that a quarter of people who have died in recent weeks had already received both doses of one of the available vaccines. As both jabs become available to more people then this percentage is expected to rise. In short, the Delta or Indian variant is more deadly, more transmissable and more resistant to the current vaccines than any that have gone before.
Due the the above concerns we are now asking all our clients to begin taking extra precautions against Covid 19. Firstly we would ask that everyone takes a regular test (at least twice a week) for covid 19 and reports their results on the NHS website. If you, anyone you know or anyone else your pet may have come into contact with has tested positive for Covid in the last 14 days you must let us know immediately by calling 07837 306824. Please CALL to ensure your message reached us and do not text or e-mail. A positive test means we will not be able to walk or look after your pet for at least 14 days from the date you contact us about the result. This is above and beyond government guidelines but has been put in place to help keep everyone safe.
If you are considering going out of the country, either for a holiday or any other reason, please be aware that you will not be able to book walks or any other services with us for 14 days after your return. This rule applies even if the country you have visited is on the government ‘green list’.
No matter what restrictions are lifted, as far as we are concerned full social distancing remains in place. If you are home when Andy or any other members of our team come to your pet, please respect this and stay at least 2m (6ft7ins) away at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
Finally, we would like you to know that no members of Andy Walks staff have visited any kind of indoor hospitality venue and will not do so until things are much more under control. We are continuing to do our shopping online, stay away from busy locations and not enter pubs, restaurants, theatres, cinemas or sporting venues. We take regular Covid 19 tests and will let all our clients know immediately if any of these prove positive.
Both the team and I believe that the only way to beat the virus is by stamping it out entirely. The more we ‘learn to live with it’ as the government has recently told us, the more chance there is of a far more dangerous variant evolving in the future. We strongly believe the government is wrong to continue ‘unlocking’ and this is why we are continuing to put our own safety measures into place that go beyond current government guidelines.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us any time on 07837 306824 or by using the contact form on this website. Updates will be posted here if anything changes.
Thank you for your understanding.
